FINDING BRISBANE
"A Museum Experience for Young Explorers"

ABOUT THE PROJECT
FINDING BRISBANE is a proposed expansion to the Museum of Brisbane run exhibition "Making Place: 100 views of Brisbane." This project seeks to add a new level of storytelling to the exhibition by providing visitors with a way to leave a physical record of their own experiences at the museum.
To facilitate this, we will install a large floor decal of a river in the exhibition, on which attendees will be able to place stickers. These stickers will have instructions on them that tell you where to stick them or what to write on them. For instance, one sticker will ask the visitors to place it in their favourite spot in the exhibition. Through this activity, the river will become an ever-expanding document of the attendees' lives and their relation to place.
We believe that our project will be particularly appealing to kids 6-12, as they will have a way of tangibly interacting with the museum space. We also believe that the river can act as a wayfinding tool, as it directs people into and around the museum space more clearly than what is currently installed.
